Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Chatpata Wadas

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • For the wadas
  • 2½ teacups gram dal
  • 12 red chillies
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 2 sliced green chillies
  • 4 tsp mint leaves, chopped
  • ½ grated fresh coconut
  • 2 tbsp mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying

For the coconut chutney

  • 1 grated fresh coconut
  • 1 onion
  • 6 green chillies
  • 4 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • a small ball tamarind
  • salt to taste

Recipe (How to Make):

For the wadas

  1. Soak the dal overnight.
  2. Grind the dal with the jeera and green and red chillies
  3. Mix the remaining ingredients.
  4. Shape into wadas and deep fry in oil.
  5. Serve with coconut chutney.

For the coconut chutney

  1. Grind all the Ingredients, by using a little water while grinding.
