Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Corn And Paneer Canapes

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • For the base :
  • 10 bread slices
  • a little butter

For the spread :

  • 1½ teacups cooked corn
  • 1 teacup chopped paneer
  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • 3 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 pinches sugar
  • 4 tbsp grated cooking cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

For serving :

  • Chilli sauce

For the white sauce :

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp maida
  • 2 teacups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Recipe (How to Make):

For the white sauce

  1. Melt the butter, add the maida and cook for 2 minutes without browning, while stirring throughout.
  2. Take out from the heat and gradually put the milk. Mix till it gets well blended.
  3. Return to heat and cook slowly, stirring throughout until the sauce get thickens.
  4. Put salt and pepper and mix properly.

For the corn and paneer canapes :

  1. Cut the bread slices into small rounds.
  2. Apply a little butter on both sides and bake in a hot oven at 400ºF for 5 to 10 minutes until it becomes crispy.
  3. Combine the corn, paneer, white sauce, coriander green chillies, sugar, salt and pepper.
  4. Spread a little corn mixture on each toasted round.
  5. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake in a hot oven at 400ºF until the cheese gets melted.
  6. Put a little chilli sauce.
  7. Ready to serve.
