Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Cumin And Pepper Rasam (Method 1)

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • 2 tsp toovar dal
  • ¾ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 3 red chilli
  • ½ tsp imli paste
  • ¼ tsp haldi
  • a few curry leave
  • 3 cups water
  • ½ tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp salt to taste


Recipe (How to Make):

  1. Soak toovar dal, ½ tsp cumin seeds, pepper, red chilli, and curry leaves in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Wet grind the above mixture.
  3. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil and add imli paste, salt and haldi.
  4. Allow it to boil for a few minutes and then add the ground masala.
  5. Fry ¼ tsp cumin seeds and 1 red chilli in ghee. Add this to the rasam.
