Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Jam Roll
Ingredients for the Recipe
- 2 large eggs
- 55 gms fine tea sugar
- 55 gms plain flour
- 3 tbsp raspberry jam
- A little melted butter or margarine
- Powdered sugar for covering the roll
Recipe (How to Make):
- Take a 225 mm x 350 mm (9" x 14") Swiss roll tin.
- Apply melted butter, put greaseproof paper over it and apply melted butter once
again over the paper.
- Beat the eggs and sugar properly until it becomes thick and double in quantity.
This should take 4 to 5 minutes. put the flour and mix well with a metal spoon.
Pour the mixture into the prepared Swiss roll tin.
- Bake in a hot oven at 450ºF for 7 to 9 minutes.
- When the roll is springy to touch, remove immediately.
- Sprinkle a sheet of greaseproof paper lavishly with powdered sugar.
- Invert the roll on this sheet and then peel off the paper from the top.
- Prepare a roll with the help of the sugared paper.
- Keep it to cool for some time. When the roll is cold, gently unroll and spread
the jam.
- Reroll and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Cut into slices.
- Ready to serve.
