Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Mutter Chaat

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • 1 tsp chaat masala powder
  • 1 medium onion chopped finely
  • ½ " inch ginger, chopped finely
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves chopped finely
  • 1-2 green chillies chopped finely
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 pinch hing
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • 1-2 cups dried white mutter, soaked overnight
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • Tamarind chutney as per taste
  • 2-4 tbsp beaten curds
  • Salt to taste

Recipe (How to Make):

  1. For making the sweet & sour tamarind chutney, boil tamarind water with jaggery, salt, red chilli powder, jeera powder & 1-2 crushed flakes of garlic if desired.
  2. Heat a little oil in a wok or pan. When hot, add jeera & hing.
  3. When done add the boiled mutter.
  4. Put in the other ingredients saving a little onions, green chillies, chutney & curds & coriander and mix well.
  5. While serving, top it with chopped onions, green chillies, some chutney & curd
  6. Also sprinkle some chaat masala and coriander leaves on top.
