Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Onion Sambhar
Ingredients for the Recipe
- 1 cup toovar dal
- 3 tsp Dhania
- 2 tsp channa dal
- 6 red chillies
- ¼ tsp methi
- 2 small onion, chopped
- 1 tomato
- 2 tsp imli paste
- 3 tsp grated coconut
- 4 green chillies
- ¼ tsp haldi
- a small bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- a few curry leaves
- ½ tsp mustard
- 2 tsp cooking oil
- salt to taste
Recipe (How to Make):
- Cook toovar dal and haldi with extra water and separate the two. Keep aside.
- Sauté channa dal, red chillies, dhania, methi, and little onion.
- Grind this mixture with tomato and coconut.
- Sauté onions and green chillies in a pan for a few minutes and cook this
in the toovar dal water with salt.
- After it is cooked, put imli paste and cook for a few minutes
- Lasty, put the masala. After this is cooked add the cooked toovar dal.
- Heat little oil in a pan, splutter mustard and add this to the sambhar.
- Garnish with cilantro and curry leaves.
