Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Podalangai (Snakegaurd) Paal Kootu
Ingredients for the Recipe
- Podalangai, chopped
- ½ cup toovar dal
- a small pinch turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 red chillies
- 2 green chillies
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup grated coconut
- ¼ tsp mustard
- ¼ tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp salt to taste
- 1 tsp ghee
Recipe (How to Make):
- Cook toovar dal with 2 cups of water and keep aside.
- Cook vegetable and put the cooked dal, turmeric powder, and salt and allow it
to boil for a few minutes.
- Wet grind coconut, red chillies, green chiliies and cumin seeds with milk.
- Add this to the boiling vegetable and allow it to cook for 10 more minutes.
- Heat some ghee in a pan and put the mustard
- When they crackle, put urad dal, and hing, and add it to the above.
