Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Potato Podimas

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • 1 pound potatoes
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • a small pinch hing
  • 6 green chillies
  • a small piece ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp channa dal
  • ¼ tsp mustard
  • curry leaves
  • a small bunch cilantro
  • washed and finely chopped
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste

Recipe (How to Make):

  1. Boil potatoes with turmeric and salt.
  2. Peel skin and mash them and keep aside.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and put the mustard.
  4. When they crackle put urad dal, channa dal, hing, turmeric, curry leaves, red chillies, ginger, lemon juice, salt and the mashed potatoes.
  5. Allow it to cook for a few minutes.
  6. Garnish with cilantro.
