Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Spinach Idli Bar

Ingredients for the Recipe
For the poha idli :

  • 1 cup idli rawa
  • ¼ cup jada poha
  • ¼ cup urad dal
  • salt to taste
  • oil for greasing
  • For the spinach mixture :
  • 1 bunch spinach, chopped
  • 3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp oil
  • salt to taste

Recipe (How to Make):
For the poha mixture :

  1. Wash and soak the idli rawa and jada poha in water for 2 hours.
  2. Wash the urad dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 2 hours.
  3. Mix the idli rawa and jada poha in a mixer to make a smooth batter.
  4. Then grind the urad dal separately to make a smooth paste using a little water.
  5. Combine the two batters and add salt. Cover and keep it to ferment for at least 6 to 8 hours.
  6. Spoon out the batter into greased idli moulds and steam for at least 7 to 10 minutes.

For the spinach mixture :

  1. Heat the butter and oil in a pan
  2. Put the green chillies and onion and sauté for some time.
  3. Then put the spinach and salt and mix for a while.
  4. Take out from the fire and keep aside.
