Indian Cooking Recipe : How to Make Vada Pav

Ingredients for the Recipe

  • 1 kg boiled potatoes
  • 2 cups gram flour (Besan)
  • Turmeric powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt as per the taste
  • Pav

Recipe (How to Make):

  1. Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies together into a paste.
  2. Peel and mash boiled potatoes.
  3. Add ginger-garlic-green chilies paste, coriander leaves, and salt to it.
  4. Then take 2 teaspoon of oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds.
  5. As soon as they start spluttering, add turmeric powder & curry leaves.
  6. Pour this tempering on the potato mixture & mix it properly.
  7. Make small balls of this potato mixture.
  8. Now add some salt & turmeric powder to the gram flour . Mix it together.
  9. Add some water to make a thick batter. Remove the lumps.
  10. Heat some oil in a pan. Dip the balls in gram flour and deep fry till golden brown.
  11. Slit the Pav keeping the base intact & spread Garlic Chutney or Green Chutney on the inner sides of it.
  12. Place the vada into it.
